January 23, 2018
The IMC team recently returned from CES 2018, and it was a blast! While we’re no stranger to CES, this year was the first time we exhibited and showcased our partnership with Indiegogo! Rather than recap the entire week or report on new tech trends like everyone else, we’re making this more personal and immersive and will walk you through a typical day for us.
Indiegogo Partnership Booth
We began each morning of CES bright and early at Eureka Park, where the Ingram Micro Lounge and Indiegogo booth were prominently located. Our team had a lot of fun chatting with entrepreneurs about supply chain management and fulfillment processes and helping them visualize their campaigns from concept, to funding, to delivery.
We got to demo our order management and fulfillment platform, presented gift boxes to a select number of Indiegogo campaigners and even had a customer, Adrian Solgaard of Solgaard Design, join us to talk about his experience bringing an idea (the Lifepack backpack) to life with Indiegogo and getting it into the hands of backers using Ingram Micro Commerce for order fulfillment.
Home Shopping Network’s American Dreams & TechStars
The excitement didn’t stop at chatting with entrepreneurs at the booth. Throughout the day, we had a few members of our team speak at different industry panels. Our very own Jean Francois joined TechStar’s “Entrepreneurship 202: Bringing a Product to Life” panel to share his experience on everything from product creation and market fit, to supply chain management and technology, to fulfillment processes and retail channel growth.
Our SVP, Ken Beyer, was a judge for Go Pitch, a joint panel between Indiegogo, Home Shopping Network and Ingram Micro. The event attracted a big crowd as Indiegogo campaigners pitched their products in hopes of winning an opportunity to appear on Home Shopping Network’s TV show, American Dreams.
Partner Night @ Hyde Bellagio
We ended one night with a bang and invited over 400 of our customers and partners to the Hyde nightclub at the Bellagio for our “Commerce. Connected.” party.
It was a great evening and another opportunity to celebrate the Indiegogo partnership and see all the ways that Ingram Micro Commerce helps brands grow.
It’s safe to say we had a great experience at CES 2018, meeting so many inspiring entrepreneurs and brands. The power of technology is truly amazing and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
